Why 20mm Thickness Matters for Your Business

20mm sintered stone has always been a preferred choice in the high-end market, but many fabricators suffer from edge chipping and unstable density when cutting thick slabs. After more than one year of testing and process upgrades, LB has solved the cutting issues for 20mm slabs and achieved highly stable performance in mass production.

High-End Look & Feel

20mm thickness delivers a solid, luxurious profile for kitchen countertops, bar tops, reception desks and commercial tables. Edges look more substantial and premium than 12mm solutions, especially with full-body designs.

Structural Stability

The thicker body boosts bending strength and impact resistance, reducing the risk of breakage during transport, installation and daily use — critical for B2B projects and long-span countertops.

Cutting Yield & Profit

Our 20mm slabs are specifically optimized for cutting: more stable density, fewer micro-cracks, and less edge chipping. Higher yield per slab means less wastage and more profit for distributors, fabricators and project contractors.

Full Body vs Regular Solid-Color 20mm Slabs

Our 20mm series includes both full-body slabs and regular solid-color slabs, giving you flexibility for different projects and price points.

Full Body 20mm Sintered Stone

Full-body 20mm slabs have consistent color and pattern from the surface to the core. Even after edge profiling, grooving and drilling, the design remains perfectly aligned.

  • • Same color and pattern through the entire 20mm thickness
  • • Premium visual effect on visible edges, mitred corners and chamfers
  • • Ideal for luxury countertops, islands, stairs and high-end wall cladding
  • • No visual loss after cutting, slotting or opening holes

“People can copy what we’ve done, but they can’t copy what we are going to do.”

solid color 20mm Sintered Stone

Our 20mm solid-color slabs offer a cost-effective solution for large projects, while keeping the same mechanical performance in impact, scratch and heat resistance.

  • • Stable monochrome body, ideal for minimalist designs
  • • Competitive price level for volume projects
  • • Excellent processing stability and cutting yield
  • • Suitable for commercial tables, worktops and public spaces

Choose full body for maximum visual impact; choose solid color for maximum cost-performance.

Key Performance: Impact, Scratch, Heat & Cutting Yield

All videos on this page are recorded in our factory and partner workshops, showing real processing and testing of LB 20mm sintered stone slabs.

Impact Resistance

20mm thickness plus high-density sintered structure gives excellent resistance to impact from daily use, transportation and installation.

  • • Engineered to handle heavy objects dropping without cracking
  • • Suitable for commercial kitchens, bars and high-traffic counters
  • • Reduced risk of breakage during loading and on-site handling

Scratch Resistance

With a Mohs hardness around level 6, our 20mm slabs are designed to resist scratches from knives, cutlery and daily tools.

  • • Knife, fork and metal abrasion tests with no visible damage
  • • Maintains a clean, smooth surface in busy F&B environments
  • • Less surface wear = longer replacement cycles for your clients

Heat Resistance

Sintered at over 1200°C, LB 20mm slabs can withstand direct contact with hot pots, pans and open flames without burning, yellowing or deformation.

  • • Direct 1000°C flame and red-hot cookware tests
  • • No discoloration, no surface crack after repeated thermal shock
  • • Perfect for kitchen countertops, outdoor BBQ stations and bars

Cutting Yield & Processing Stability

The biggest pain point of 20mm slabs in the industry is cutting stability: chips, cracks and internal stress. Our process has been optimized specifically to solve this.

  • • Stable density and stress control across the entire slab
  • • Less edge chipping during straight cutting and shaping
  • • Higher yield per slab, especially for complex nesting layouts

“If a slab gets damaged during cutting, we will compensate one-to-one.” — LB 20mm cutting guarantee.

Recommended 20mm Processing Parameters

To help your team get the best cutting yield, we provide recommended parameters for waterjet cutting and CNC infrared bridge saws for 20mm sintered stone slabs.

Ultra-High-Pressure Waterjet (20mm)

  • • Recommended thickness: 20mm
  • • Feed rate multiplier: ≈18%
  • • Water pressure: 220–320 MPa
  • • Garnet consumption: ≈190 g/min
  • • Machine speed factor (GOO rate): 100%

Note: Control feed speed and garnet valve precisely to avoid micro-chipping. Make sure the table is clean, flat and stable before processing.

CNC Infrared Bridge Saw (20mm)

  • • Saw blade diameter: 300–400 mm
  • • Rotation speed: 1500–2800 r/min (depending on blade size)
  • • Processing speed: 900–1100 mm/min for straight cuts
  • • First & last 150 mm: run at 50% speed to reduce stress
  • • Single-blade cutting 20mm: around 1000 mm/min
  • • Double-blade cutting 20mm: ≥1500 mm/min

Use high-quality blades suitable for sintered stone / porcelain, keep blade sharpness and cooling condition stable, and avoid over-fast feeding.

Basic equipment requirements (for 3–20mm processing range):

  • • Cutting table must be clean, durable, solid and perfectly level.
  • • CNC cutting machine motor speed: 4500–6000 r/min.
  • • Cutter head speed: 0–200 mm/min; bridge movement: 0–200 m/min.
  • • Cutting speed: ≥8 m/s with proper water cooling.
  • • Chamfering machines: automatic CNC, 3–20mm thickness, with one cutting blade, two diamond rough grinding wheels and two resin polishing wheels.

Where 20mm LB Sintered Stone Delivers Maximum Value

From kitchen countertops to commercial furniture, 20mm slabs help you move from “just supplying slabs” to “delivering high-margin solutions”.

Kitchen Countertops

20mm full-body slabs perfect for island countertops, integrated sinks and hob cut-outs. High heat resistance and scratch resistance make them ideal for premium residential and commercial kitchens.

Commercial Tables & Bars

For restaurants, cafés, hotel lobbies and office pantries, 20mm solid-color slabs provide a durable, easy-to-clean and long-lasting surface solution.

Stairs & High-End Walls

20mm full-body slabs are excellent for stairs, treads and wall cladding where edges are visible and require a consistent pattern through the thickness.

Quality Control & 20mm Thickness Tolerance

Each 20mm slab is inspected according to LB’s internal QC standards to ensure thickness tolerance, edge integrity and surface quality meet project requirements.

Thickness & Flatness

  • • Nominal thickness: 20mm
  • • Thickness tolerance: ±0.3mm
  • • Controlled flatness for large format (e.g. 1600×3200)
  • • Recommended: remove 10mm from all four edges before cutting to release stress

Surface & Edge Defects Control

  • • Strict limits on cracks, edge chips and corner chips
  • • Controlled pinholes, holes and bubbles according to internal standard
  • • Visual inspection plus random destructive testing for impact and bending

Turn 20mm Sintered Stone Performance into Real Profit

Cheaper 20mm slabs often break easily during cutting, increasing wastage and eating into your margin. LB’s 20mm series is designed for cutting stability — and we are confident enough to promise:

“If you break one slab during cutting, we compensate one-to-one.”

You don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. Let’s sit down and talk about this opportunity. The initial batch of this 20mm series is limited — early partners can enjoy extra marketing support (samples, displays) and temporary regional exclusivity.

  • • 20mm full body & solid-color thickness samples for your showroom
  • • Processing guide & cutting video training for your fabrication team
  • • Support for local promotion (catalogues, displays, online material)
